Catchment Engagement and Education

Maroochy Waterwatch takes a lead role in educating the public and raising awareness of catchment care issues. Catchment education is carried out through displays at local festivals, visits to schools, media coverage and the shopfront/office facilities in Nambour.

The shopfront office in Nambour is staffed by a coordinator, project officers and a large number of dedicated volunteers who assist with community inquiries.  Members of the public visit the office where they can ask about catchment related issues, use library resources, browse through the displays and purchase an interesting range of merchandise.

The catchment workshops also fill a niche role in the educations package.
